So, the first guide of the cave Alexander Khlebnikov was inviting guests into underground halls one hundred years ago. And today we offer an animated excursion «Torch procession. A. Khlebnikov’s route».

The excursion coincide with the main route to the Big underground lake where the tourists begin the transition to the ring labyrinth through the lake Atlantis and further overcome an old manhole «A grief for thick and high» and reach the first ice grottoes. The guide in the role of A. T. Khlebnikov with a torch.

The main excursion subject is history of visits and discoveries of a cave in the past centuries, about the outstanding personalities which made a huge contribution to promoting of the Kungur cave in the XVIII-XXth centuries S. U. Remezov, V. N. Tatishchev, participants of the Great expedition to Kamchatka under the leadership of V. Beringa, M. Ya. Kittara, V. A. Varsonofyeva and also surprising destiny of the first guide A. T. Khlebnikov. With words of great poets we open an unforgettable poetic image of the cave.

The excursion begins at an exposure of the Ice slope where there is an old natural manhole in a cave. It will make you feel how inquisitive travelers were getting in the cave and what the feature of penetration into mountain bowels was. In Dante’s grotto of guests expects the unusual torch lighting which is as close as possible to the entourage of the first excursions of A. Khlebnikov.

Words of the great poet Dante Alighieri from «The divine comedy» are sounding under the stone vaulting and three hundred meters all participants contemplate grotto with the candle lights.

The surprising immersion into the world of the underground darkness and the shadows arising in flickering light of a torch and flame of candles. The culmination of the torch route is display of a meteor. Further survey of the cave continues at usual lighting.

 

The remained 500 meters to an output tunnel pass through "underground Venice" - the Long grotto - big grottoes the Giant and the Tower.
